How will this workshop help?
Starting from principles of adult teaching and learning, the workshop will help you develop practical approaches to:
- writing learning outcomes
- selecting content
- planning delivery
- assessing progress
The workshop is suitable for all tutors who teach adult learners. It is useful for tutors who are considering doing the NCALE (Voc) or who simply wish to refine their session planning skills.

- How to structure lessons in a systematic way
- How to turn unit standard performance criteria into learning outcomes
- How to sequence and time activities to maximize learning opportunities
- How to engage learners through good session design
- How to address literacy and numeracy issues through good session design
- How to measure the progress of your learners throughout the session
How will I learn?
This one day workshop is led by experienced Workbase facilitators. It includes practical examples, modeling, explanations, group discussions and interactive activities and question and answer sessions. You will be provided with materials at the workshop.
