The aged-care specialist, started in 1982, is now one of New Zealand's largest construction companies. The foundation of its strategy calls for the devleopment, design, construction and operation of all the facilities it builds for the long-stay care of the elderly.
Chairman David Kerr says in the company's annual report that Ryman's growth strategy has not changed since the company listed in 1999. It intends to be New Zealand's leading provider of retirement and and healthcare facilities for the elderly.
The company also focuses on the development and reward of its employees to ensure it can deliver a quality product and service. "We always attain aged care certifications with very good results for each village. We actively encourage and financially reward additional training undertaken by our staff." the report says.
